FAQ

Common questions

Is vinyl really waterproof?
LVP and LVT, yes — click-lock systems with a waterproof core handle spills, splashes and even minor flooding without damage. Standard laminate is moisture-resistant but not fully waterproof; for full waterproofing in wet areas we recommend LVP, LVT or waterproof laminate with sealed cores.
How long does it take?
Most LVP and laminate installs take 1–3 days, depending on square footage and how much subfloor prep is needed. Larger or multi-room projects with leveling can run a bit longer — we'll give you a clear timeline during the estimate.
Can I install over old flooring?
Over tile or vinyl, yes — with the right prep (cleaning, leveling, sometimes a skim coat). Over carpet, never. We always evaluate the existing surface during the estimate and tell you exactly what's needed.
Will it scratch from pet claws?
LVP is highly scratch-resistant — most pet claws don't penetrate the wear layer, especially on commercial-grade products with thicker wear layers (20+ mil). It's one of the best options for homes with dogs and cats.
